Eight months after Hurricane María, Puerto Rico is still reeling from institutional collapse, corruption, and abandonment. Geño, an ex-convict turned pastor, leads a makeshift church of misfits struggling to feed their community.
When Carlos, an underemployed mechanic, accidentally discovers barrels of narco-political cash being buried through a corrupt construction operation, desperation turns into opportunity. Pressured by his congregation—and aided by Karla, a ruthless hitwoman with her own vision of justice—Geño and his unlikely ministry set out to steal the money and put it where they believe it belongs: back into their community.
What follows is an irreverent collision of faith, crime, politics, and moral compromise, as ordinary people become accidental criminals and find themselves caught between the FBI, the narcos, and their own increasingly questionable idea of doing good.
The Holy Bomba Drum Ministry asks a haunting question: When the world forgets you, what will you do to survive—and still call yourself good?
